Olympia Christmas Horse Show
22nd - 23rd December 2012

Saturday: We will make a morning departure, and having made a coffee stop on the motorway, we should arrive at our hotel by lunchtime. We will enjoy a 3 course lunch before making our way to Olympia. There may be time to make use of the hotel’s Leisure Club during the afternoon. The evening performance of Olympia starts at 7 p.m., but we will arrive early, so that there will be time to visit the trade stands. The programme will consist of a ride and drive relay race, plus a showjumping class featuring international riders. There will also be dog agility, various equestrian displays, the Shetland Pony Grand National, plus the usual entertaining seasonal Grand Finale.

Sunday: After breakfast, we will check out of our hotel, and make our way to Windsor. Windsor Castle is the oldest royal residence, and dominates the little town. You could walk over Windsor Bridge into Eton High Street, and admire the famous school founded by Henry IV in 1440. If the weather is fine, you could take a walk in the 4,000 acre Windsor Great Park. There is also an open top bus tour for serious sightseeing.   There are numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs in Windsor, and as it is close to Christmas, most of the shops are open for last minute shopping. We will leave Windsor in the mid-afternoon, and should arrive back in the North-West by early to mid evening.
